Mikage stone or kakougan (granite) comes from the town of Mikage now known as Higashinada-ku, Kobe. Traditionally, Mikage stone was used to carve garden ornaments or sculptures. Despite the quality of material, artists were able to manipulate the stone to resemble something that was soft as opposed to solid as is the nature of the stone.

This Mikage soy pot is elegantly crafted to look like Mikage stone and has a very natural textured feel, yet the pot itself is delicate in its curvy shape and spherical body. True to the artistry of working with Mikage stone, this soy pot is soft yet solid. The spout on this soy pot allows for easy pouring of soy sauce so that you get the perfect amount every time.
